1800
- November 17
- Congress meets for the first time in the United States Capitol. It was not yet completed.
1885
- The Home Insurance Building is built, becoming the World's First Skyscraper at 10 Floors High.
1886
- October 28
- The Statue of Liberty is dedicated in New York.
1889
- May 6
- The Eiffel Tower opens at the Paris Expo.
1892
- Chicago hosts the World's Columbian Exposition, bringing the World's "First Ferris Wheel" at 27 Floors High, the Field Museum(now the Museum of Science and Industry), Jackson Park and the Lagoon for "Gondala Rides".
1897
- The Chicago "El" is operated for elevated trains and forms a "Loop" around the Central Business District that replaced the older"Loop" that had Street Cars circling it. So, Chicago became known as "The Loop", for the first time in history.
1904
- Saint Louis hosts the 1904 World's Fair, bringing Chicago's "First Ferris Wheel" to Saint Louis, but unfortunately, it collapsed after standing for 4 days, the Old Courthouse, and the Levee Park.
- October 27
- The New York subway system opens.
1909
- Daniel Burnham has a "Grand Plan" for Chicago as one of the Best Cities in the U.S. to look similar to Paris, with public parks and buildings lining the park, he calls it "The 1909 Plan of Chicago".
1931
- The Empire State Building is Topped Out, becoming the Tallest Building in the World for over 40 Years.
1932
- The Great Depression happens bringing a stop to new buildings, roads, traveling, and working. The last buildings to get built were the Bank of America Building (Chicago) in 1934, and The Pentagon in Washington D.C. in 1934.
1933
- Chicago hosts the 1933 World's Fair, bringing people from all over America to see the "Tower of Light", the Above Ground Trams, and the Museums.
1936
- Mies Van Der Rohe becomes the first Architect to introduce modern "International Style" Architecture to the World, in Berlin.
1963
- The Gateway Arch is built at 630 Feet High in Saint Louis, creating a "Gateway To The West". The Arch was built right where the "First Ferris Wheel" stood, adding a centerpiece to the Old Courthouse. This was the First Giant Monument built in the U.S. after the Great Depression. A park is also created on the stretch between the Old Courthouse to the Union Station Shops, and the park that the Arch stands on is recreated for relaxing or having fun.
1970
- The John Hancock Center in Chicago is Topped Out, becoming the Tallest Mixed Use Skyscraper in the World, making it the first building to ever accomplish such a height for Mixed Use.
1973
- May 4
- Sears Tower (Chicago) Topped Out, and becomes the World's Tallest Building.
1976
- Pennzoil Place is completed.
1993
- The U.S. faces a Crisis for building in Cities and Suburbs.
1998
- July 16
- Petronas Towers is Topped Out, becoming the new World's Tallest Building over Sears Tower with unoccupied Ornamental Spires.
2000
- Architects start building in the U.S. again, bringing new buildings to the U.S. with the Dearborn Center in Chicago and Time Warner Center in New York.
2004
- March 16
- Taipei 101 is Topped Out, beating both Sears Tower's Roof and Petronas Towers' Spires' as the World's Tallest Building.
- July 16
- Millennium Park (Chicago) opens, becoming an outstanding attraction to people all over the World with works of Art.
- November 18
- The Clinton Presidential Library is dedicated in Little Rock, Arkansas.
2006
- November 18
- The foundation is poured for the Freedom Tower in New York, the building that replaced the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center that were destroyed by terrorists on September 11, 2001.
2007
- July 17
- A Recession occurs in the the U.S., Europe, and China, bringing an Economic Crisis to most of the World with no newer buildings, highways, retail, and offices. Tall buildings are even put on hold, The Chicago Spire, Waterview Tower, Leadenhall Tower, and Freedom Tower (New York).
2008
- June 2
- Burj Dubai is Topped Out, becoming the World's Tallest Building over Taipei 101 with both roof and spire height.
- November 27
2009
- January 14
- Trump International Hotel and Tower (Chicago) is Topped Out, becoming the Tallest "New Super-Tall" Building in America at 1,362 Feet, including the "full spire", and beats the John Hancock Center in Chicago as the Tallest Mixed Use Skyscraper in the World.
- May 15
- There has been a little bit of an Economic Turn-Around in the U.S. and the U.K., creating more jobs, and some areas with new "housing".
2010
- January 2
- Burj Dubai opens it's doors for the first time as the world's tallest building.
- The Burj Dubai gets renamed the Burj Khalifa, after the UAE President.
- February
- The Chicago Spire is cancelled due to the economy in the U.S.
