Daytona Hilton & Conference Center

Well Known Facts

Built in 1988, this was the first major development to be built in what is now considered Daytona Beach's newer downtown. The building has a yellowish-brown concrete exterior with blue-green tinted glass windows and a blue-green pyramidal roof top that helps the building reach 173 Feet. Without the pyramidal top, the building is at 168 Feet, and would not be able to compete with being one of the tallest building's in the city. Today, the Hilton is the city's 3rd tallest building. It was the city's 2nd tallest building until 2004, when the Oceanwalk Condominiums complex surpassed both this building and Clocktower Plaza Hotel as the tallest building in the city. Also, Oceanwalk was built to help make Daytona Beach be Florida's 6th Best Skyline by 2005.
