This was Chicago's first super-tall skyscraper, built in 1969 with 100 floors. Was Chicago's 3rd tallest building from 1973-2008, the Trump International Hotel and Tower (Chicago) surpassed both the John Hancock Center and Aon Center (Chicago), to become the city's 2nd tallest building, which means the Hancock is now #4 in the tallest building category for the city. The X Braces are there on purpose to help support the building's weight and height from Lake Michigan and Chicago wind.
