Briefly

The city of Lake Geneva was founded in the 1800s. Chicagoans wanted to have "getaway" trips up here. Even well known Chicago Icons lived up here, like Wally Phillips of Chicago Radio. Now a Tourism Spot, the city has a lot to offer on this huge lake. There is even a Pier with shops called the "Riviera". The city had built a 10 Storey Building called Geneva Towers, and shortly after the dispute of tearing down Frank Lloyd Wright's Lake Geneva Hotel, the city passed an ordinance, that no buildings can be higher than 5 Storeys. The city also has a population of 8,371 residents. This city sits right in the middle of "rural" Southeastern Wisconsin. Although, it is only "2 Hours and 6 Minutes" from Chicago. People from Chicago still own summer homes up here. Since 2005, Lake Geneva has been trying to sell a lot of it's rural land. There are several "Land For Sale" signs on the town's county, state, and U.S. Highways. We will have to see if this will actually happen in 5 or 10 years from now.
