Events
- May 3, 2010- NBA: Grant Hill wins the NBA Sportsmanship Award for the 2009-2010 season. Hill at age 37 is one of the NBA's marquee players when he played in Detroit. He is even a former Co-Rookie Of The Year winner with Jason Kidd back in 1995.
In February of 2009 on the days of the 13th-15th, the NBA is hosting the All Star Game here. Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Dirk Nowitzki, Amare Stoudamire, "Shaq" O'Neal (Phoenix Sun for 1 in a half years), LeBron James, Kevin Garnett (been with the Celtics for 2 years now), and Dwight Howard are some of the NBA players who will participate in the NBA All Star Game. Also in the NBA Rookie Challenge, it will be Derrick Rose and Michael Beasley who are some of the Rookies participating along with Sophomores Kevin Durant, Al Horford, and Rudy Gay. In the Slam Dunk Contest, it will be Nate Robinson, Dwight "Superman" Howard, and Rudy Gay (who was just about voted for everything).
After The Events In 2009
- Kevin Durant won the Rookie Challenge on the sophomores by a Record Rookie Challenge High 46 Points.
- Nate Robinson won the Slam Dunk Contest.
- "Shaq" and "Kobe" tied for getting the All Star MVP, which means they are Co-All Star MVPs.
- Rookie Chicago Bull, Derrick Rose won the Skills Challenge.
- Kevin Durant won Horse when he was down to the word GEIC, and O.J. Mayo was down GEI, Durant eliminated Mayo with 3 Pointers, and beat Mayo for the word GEICO.
During The 2009 Off-Season
- Mid July 2009- NBA: The Suns bought-out the rest of Ben Wallace's contract, having him become a Free Agent.
- June 25, 2009- NBA: Ben Wallace, Sasha Pavlovic, and 2011 Second Round Pick of the Cavs were Traded For Shaq "Diesel" O'Neal of the Suns.
Downside To 2010 Free Agency
- Amare Stoudamire has left Phoenix for a big contract with the Knicks in New York. The Knicks have offered him a 5 Year/$100 Million Deal. He went through with the signing, he said "I would sign here to hopefully bring Carmelo Anthony here next year, which means a lot of West All Stars are leaving to go to the East. In better news, the Suns signed former Chicago Bull Hakim Warrick to a 4 Year/$18 Million Deal.
