Briefly
This city was once a rural town in the 1960s. Now an Urban Center, Schaumburg was home to 75,600 people in 2007, but that soon changed things, when the U.S. Census Organization came here in 2009. The city since 2007 has had 233 new residents come to the city. Woodfield Mall is the best known Tourist Spot in town. Schaumburg has 12 high rise buildings, the most of any suburb around Chicago. The tallest ones are the Zurich Towers, reaching at 438 Feet at 20 Floors, and completed with blue tinted glass windows in 1980. The city is also known for the Minor League Team, the Schaumburg Flyers. Schaumburg is at the crossroads of the Northwest Suburbs, with I-90 to the north and I-290 to the east. The Mall was built in 1962. In fact this city is nicknamed "Chicago's Second Downtown". Also though, it is the 2nd largest Skyline in Illinois.

Tourist Zones
The top Tourist Zone of Illinois outside of Chicago is Woodfield Mall, with more than 200 Stores, this is Illinois' largest mall.
Unforgettable Events
In September 2008, there was a bomb threat at Woodfield Mall around 2:30pm. Around an hour later, the suspects were caught and taken to the Schaumburg Jail. On January 26, 2009, there were 2 guys that were White and suspected having guns at Woodfield Mall around 1:30pm. Around 3:45pm that day, the police did not find the suspects, but are still going under investigation. So around 4pm, the mall reopened for people to shop and look around. On both these events, the mall was completely shut down and Police surrounded the mall, until these events were done. Security is now tighter at Woodfield Mall, because of these events, and there is Security standing by the inside entrances of the department stores and Mall Entrances, in case of any illegal activity. The people who live around the area said that there was now one white guy with a gun inside the mall, and still looking for him as of January 28, 2009.
