History

SOM has been in Chicago since 1936. They did not make serious proposals until the John Hancock Center and Sears Tower. Since then, they have been building more taller ones like Taipei 101 in 2003. Their headquarters is in the Santa Fe Building in downtown Chicago, above the Chicago Architecture Foundation.
