From Towrs
Well Known Facts
This 1,018 Foot Skyscraper is now and has been since 1990, the tallest building in L.A. The architects purposely made it bendable, so it could resist earthquakes in Los Angeles (California). The building is also the tallest building west of the Mississippi River, when it also surpassed the JP Morgan Chase Tower (Houston) in Houston.
- Originally Known as Library Tower, the building was sold to US Bank Corp. in 2002, just like how they are now doing Sears Tower (Chicago)-Willis Tower (Chicago).
- It was called Library Tower, because it stands right in front of the Central Library of California.
- Architect: Skidmore, Owings, & Merrill (SOM)
- "Crocodile Dundee: In Los Angeles" was filmed here and on the very crown of this skyscraper.
